Jotunheimen was not Norway first National Park, but maybe the most visited mountain area and national park in Norway. Several self-service cabins and staffed lodges with marked footpaths between them encourage many hikers to visit the area. Routes often follow valleys surrounded by alpine peaks and glaciers. High peaks overlook large lakes with emerald green reflections. Many routes are true Norwegian hiking classics.
